DESCRIPTION:The 7th annual Firecracker 5K will take place on Friday\, July 3 at 9:00 a.m. at Bimbo’s Octagon\, 7626 Highway 5\, Side Lake\, MN. The scenic course takes runners through local neighborhoods\, with views of the lakes and northern pines. \nThis year’s theme celebrates our nation’s 250th anniversary: “Salute to America: Celebrating 250 Years of Freedom.” \nRegistration for the Side Lake Firecracker 5K is currently open through RunSignup.\nRegister online at: https://runsignup.com/Race/MN/SideLake/Firecracker5KSideLake \nRegister before June 15 to be guaranteed a T-shirt and a sticker commemorating this year’s events in Side Lake. Race swag is limited\, so sign up today! \nRegister before July 1 to be eligible for the race discount. \n\nCost (adult\, 18 and up): $25\nCost (child\, 17 and under): $20\n\nSame-day registration will be available beginning at 7:00 a.m. (race discount does not apply to same-day registration). DESCRIPTION:The Side Lake Parade will take place on Saturday\, July 4. Lineup will begin at 8:30 a.m.\, with road closures along the parade route starting at 9:30 a.m. The parade will begin promptly at 10:00 a.m. We will enjoy the same parade route as in previous years. \nApplications for parade entry will be available at CC Camp and the Side Lake Store. Please return completed applications to either of these locations by Friday\, July 3. If you happen to miss pre-registration\, same-day registration will be available at the parade lineup on the corner of Rudstrom Rd. and Sturgeon Rd. If you plan to participate in parade judging\, you must register before 9:30 a.m. on July 4. All floats must sign in at the registration table prior to lineup. \nThis year\, we will be celebrating our nation’s 250th anniversary: “Salute to America: Celebrating 250 Years of Freedom.” \nThe Hibbing High School Band will be joining us again this year! \nNominations for Grand Marshal are being accepted via email at sidelakeevents@gmail.com.
